5 YARDS OF PAPER

A collaborative project with Betsy Zacsek, August 2012.

The last project in my graduate studio #1728 at the School of The Art Institute of Chicago. Betsy and I used cotton paper pulp that were hand casted and pressed on the studio floor to capture the impression of the time spent, a gesture to capture the essence of moments left within the texture of the floor. After the paper dried, a grid was developed of the floor we meticulously cataloged and documented the dried paper. Each grid of paper was then stored in individual portfolios.
